London Marathon Club Places It is anticipated that the Club again this year will be allocated 3 places for the Flora London Marathon 2008. To be considered for one of these places, you will need to have applied through the normal ballot and have been rejected. If you want to apply for one of the Club places, please let Chris Duke know in writing either by e-mail (chrisandrewduke@hotmail.com) or by post ( 18 Alexandra Road, Addlestone, KT15 2PE). A draw for the 3 places will take place at the Christmas Dinner and Dance on Saturday, 15th December. You will need to give Chris your rejection letter from the London Marathon to be included in the club ballot. Just remember a Club place can be transferred to another club member, as long as this is done before mid January. So if you are lucky in the draw for one of these place and cannot run the marathon, please let Chris know as soon as possible (and before mid January).

As usual the club will be organising a mini bus up to Blackheath for the start of the marathon. Please contact Alan Pye if you want to book a seat.

The lucky winners of the club marathon places are Tony Barnett, Geoff O'Grady and Paul Whitcombe. Sam Loguancio drew the reserve place. Good luck.

The Woking and Sam Beare Hospice have offered a Gold Bond charity entry to run the London Marathon. Anyone accepting the place will be required to raise a minimum of £2,000 for the hospice. If any member is interested or needs more information please contact me.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in yesterdays London Marathon. It would be unfair to pick out any one person for a special mention as you have all run good times. Once again well done everyone.
