The course is pretty flat.
It has no more than the normal hills you encounter in training runs. There is one point with a small climb which is very steady. It would not be a great course for a personal best (like Wokingham) but a good course.
It is one of my favorites but it clashes with another race this year so I am not running it. There are bands around the course which help to lift you when running. Loads of people turn out to support the race. When you get near the end of the race you can see the stadium but you turn right just before the stadium (about a two thirds a of a miles worth), so when you see the stadium keep a little bit in reserve for the out and back bit before the stadium.
Make sure you get car parking when booking the race (if you enter that is). I use the cheep parking (£5) and the first car park from the motorway. Arrive early for the race as the traffic queues off the motorway waiting to get into the car parks.
Its a great race for me and I will doing it again ..... just not this year though ! Its a really uplifting race for me ......

An alternative to the parking problem is to use the train. There are services from Staines or Egham to Reading, and there is a free shuttle bus from the station to and from the race start.

Don't be nervous...... its an ideal for first half marathon. Its got loads of supporters and bands playing as you go around the course. Its a large half marathon with loads of entrants and a great atmosphere !
Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy !!!!

Hi Bobby, You were right really nice race to run not too hilly and very well organised and even the weather was good ;D But I am totally knackered now, the last mile and a half was really tough for me but running into the stadium at the end was great I can't believe i have run 13 miles !!! Not sure on the times as i didn't look when we started but think it it was around 2 hours 15, Rowena completed it in about 2 hours 25. Hope Cranleigh was good Caroline
